Byron Williamson

From Here by Byron Williamson
Byron Williamson, a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, blurs the defined lines and dissolves the perceived boundaries to create his paintings. His paintings work on many levels. He states" The placid landscapes combined with the ravaged interiors, threatened by tornadic violence can be seen as symbolic of man's personal struggle of mankind's battle to master nature, or of nature's inevitable destruction of us through our destruction of her." Byrons work is a delight in the use of imagination.

Artist's Statement
"The dissolution of perceived boundaries provides the metaphor for my paintings. The line between where inside and outside begins or ends. The line between our emotional selves and our stoic appearance. All of these and others are blurred in my paintings. Hopefully, the paintings work on many levels. The placid landscapes combined with the ravaged interiors, threatened by tornadic violence can be seen as symbolic of man's personal struggle, of mankind's battle to master nature, or of nature's inevitable destruction of us through our destruction of her. The paintings also work as my own expression of the wonders in making a "world" according to my design. A delight in the use of imagination."
